At the 59th
Estoril Internacional Show, on the 22nd, we gave our Barbados da Terceira the
day off! ;) With the Standard Wire-Haired Dachshund,
Bocado de Aradik was Best Male Puppy
and Bolota de Aradik was Best
Puppy of the Breed. With the Drever, A
Striped Star de Aradik was Best Puppy of the Breed, Best Puppy of the
Group and became "Jovem Esperança 2010" (Young Hope 2010, kind of
Puppy Champion title)! Congratulations to her owner!

Dachshund National Specialty Show, on the 21st, Bacano de Aradik
was Best Standard Wire-Haired Male Puppy,

Aoshi de Ghabar was Best Puppy of the
Breed. Alfinete de Aradik
was 2nd in Open Class. And Aradik was Best Breeder's Group!
At the 5th

Major site update! Now you can get to know our dogs even better! We have updated the
litters’ pages, we added dogs we own or that we have bred and who are proving
themselves in their domains, we added information about health and show results
in many of our dogs, we show some Barbado da
Terceira dogs we have available to selected homes, we added here on the news
information about our latest divulgation activities… We created the
links page, a page to
remember our friends gone by, we started the
photo gallery… The menu bar on the right is finally complete and functional
We have also started a blog. It is not meant to provide information about our activity as breeders (that’s the goal of this website), but rather to be a complement to the site, where I will make available information I think may be relevant, informative links, article drafts, etc.

Lisbon International Show, on the 10th, in the Barbado da Terceira,
Cliff de Aradik was Best
Junior Male and 2nd Best Male,
Cortiça de Arardik was
Best Junior Female, Ali-Babá de
Aradik got CAC and was Best Male and
Becas de Aradik got RCAC. In
the Standard Wire-Haired Dachshund, Bolota de Aradik was Best Female
Puppy and Bocado de Aradik was Best Puppy of the Breed and Lisboa
Puppy Winner 2010. In the Drever,
Track-Action Lupiini got CACIB and was Best of Breed and Lisboa
Winner 2010, and A Star in Stripes de Aradik was Best Baby of the
Breed and Lisboa Baby Winner 2010.
We started a
cooperation with the portuguese dog magazine "Cães
& Companhia", writing technical and divulgation articles.

Also in Ponte de
Lima, we welcomede Aradik's most recent aquisition -
Aoshi de Ghabar, 7 months-old Standard
wire-haired Dachshund has come to our family. Thank you Arlete Matos for
trusting us with your girl! :)
Upon a new
invitation from the organization, we were present at the 4th Ponte de Lima Horse
Festival, from the 24th to the 27th, presenting the barbado da Terceira, with
divulgation material and a breed delegation -
Adágio,
Figo,
Sheila,
Ananás de Aradik,
Becas de Aradik e
Bóina de Aradik. Once again the
public was huge, and for most people this was their first contact with the
breed.
At the 2nd
Lamego National Show, on the 20th, the Barbado da Terceira
Ananás de Aradik was CAC and
Best of Breed, Becas de Aradik
was CAC and Best Female. With the Standard Wire-haired Dachshund,
Bocado de Aradik was Best Baby and with the Drever,
A Star in
Stripes de Aradik, in his show debut, was Best Baby.
At the 8th
Portugal Day's Portuguese Breeds Show, "Team Aradik" had a smashing
participation, with half the Barbados da Terceira competing. All our dogs were
classified Excellent (a mandatory result for the Portuguese championship). With
the males, Castiço de Aradik
was 2nd in Juniors Class, Cliff de Aradik was 1st
and 2nd Best Male;
Ananás de Aradik was 2nd in Intermediate Class;
Astro de
Aradik was 2nd in Open Class and RCAC-QC;
Adágio was 1st in
Champions Class and Figo was
2nd.
With the females, Cortiça de Aradik was
2nd in Juniors Class,
Becas de Aradik was 1st
Intermediate Class and Bóina de Aradik
was 3rd; Sheila was
1st in Champions Class and 2nd Best Female. At the
finals, Aradik was 2nd Best Breeder Group!

BIS2 Breder's Group
On the 5th, we were at the 7 Fontes School, in Braga. We had been invited to
show the Barbado da Terceira breed, for their exhibition of dog breeds within
their activities about "Portuguese Culture", celebrating the envirionment's day,
the school's day and its 3rd anniversary. Figo and Sheila were a success among
students and their family, most of which did not know the breed.

We started a

Associação Portuguesa do Cão da Serra da Estrela (one of the two Estrela
Mountain Dog breed clubs in Portugal), writing technical and divulgation papers
for their newsletter, the "Jornal O Cão"
At the 82nd
R.S.C.E.'s Spring International Show (mandatory point for the Spanish
championship), on the 22nd, the Barbado da Terceira
Sheila was CAC and Best of Breed,
Figo was CAC and Best Male,
Ananás de Aradik was 1st
Excellent in Intermediate Class and
Bóina de Aradik was 2nd Excellent in Open Class. The Drever
Track-Action Lupiini was CAC, CACIB
and Best of Breed.

Figo was CAC and Best of Breed;
Sheila was also CAC and Best Female.

At the 13th
Elvas International Show, on the 8th, the Barbado da Terceira
Becas de Aradik was CAC and Best of
Breed. The Drever Track-Action
Lupiini was CACIB and Best of Breed. The Standard Wire-haired Dachshund
Bocado de Aradik, on his show debut, was Best baby of the Breed and
made the cut to the final 5 Best Babies in Show.

Penafiel International Show, on the 25th, the Barbado da Terceira
Becas de Aradik was Best of
Breed.. The Standard Wire-haired Dachshund
Alfinete de Aradik got his 3rd
CAC and was RCACIB.
At the 13th
Viana do Castelo National Show, on the 24th, the Barbado da Terceira
Becas de Aradik was Best of
Breed.
On the 17th of
April and in May, Cuca de Aradik (Barbado da Terceira) helped his owner, Pedro
Araújo (obedience champion and member of the Portuguese Obedience Selection for
2010), teach the 3 seminars "Obedience - 1000 secrets"

Costa Azul National Show, on the 11th, with the Barbado da Terceira,
Castiço de Aradik was Best
Puppy of the Breed and
Becas de Aradik was 2nd
Best Female Junior.
At the 6th
Moita National Show, on the 10th, with the Barbado da Terceira,

We finally did a major update on our website! We have completed the
pages for our current litters - Dachshund
and Drever -, and updated a
lot of information on our Barbados
da Terceira and Dachshunds.
We also updated our contacts page, as we
have changed home.
At the
7th Caldas da Rainha National Show, on the 28th, Castiço
de Aradik was Best Male Puppy, Bóina
de Aradik got the CAC and Becas de Aradik was Best of Breed
and got short-listed in the Group

the 26th Granada International Show, on the 20th,
history was made for the Barbado da Terceira, who made its
international debut at shows. The Portuguese delegation was composed by
Castiço
de Aradik (owned by Cristina Queimado, Terras do Pó
Kennel), who was Best puppy of
the Breed, Sheila, who was BOS and Figo
was BOB!

our 2nd Standard
Wire-haired Dachshund litter was born. With 4 males and 3 females,
it is a very promissing litter, with a lot of potential!
